Start with the north-side icon, but keep a backup

Golden Gate View Point is usually understood as the Battery Spencer / Marin Headlands overlook above the north end of the bridge. It is the iconic frame, but small parking pullouts mean the smartest plan includes Hawk Hill or the Presidio as backups.

Fog is a planning variable, not an afterthought

The same marine layer that can make the bridge cinematic can also erase it. Check conditions before leaving, then build enough time to wait, relocate, or use a lower south-side viewpoint.

Do not treat parking as guaranteed

The Golden Gate Bridge District warns that bridge-area parking is extremely limited. Arrive early, avoid valuables in the car, and be ready to use rideshare, transit, bike routes, or a different overlook.
