Golden Gate Bridge parking, by where you are going.

Each end of the bridge, Battery Spencer, Fort Point and the beaches have their own lots with their own rules. Pick where you are going and when, and see the nearest lots on that side that are open then.

To walk the bridge: park at the Welcome Center lot at the San Francisco end ($5 an hour, 3 hours max. Meter or ParkMobile; 7 AM to 9 PM daily) or the Vista Point lot at the Marin end (Free, 4-hour limit. Restrooms). For Battery Spencer: the small free lot on Conzelman Road.

The 2026 weekend closures (11 AM to 5 PM) ended on October 12, so both lots are open every day now.

Parking questions

Where do I park to walk the Golden Gate Bridge?

At the San Francisco end, the Welcome Center lot on the southeast side (37 spaces, $5 an hour, 3 hours max. Meter or ParkMobile). At the Marin end, the Vista Point lot (Free, 4-hour limit. Restrooms). The 2026 weekend closures (11 AM to 5 PM) ended on October 12, so both lots are open every day now. Both are small; the Bridge District asks visitors to come by transit, bike or rideshare when they can.

Is there parking at Battery Spencer?

Yes, a small lot on Conzelman Road with about 18 spaces in OpenStreetMap, plus a few roadside spaces just above it. Golden Gate National Recreation Area charges no entrance fee there, so parking is free. It fills fast at sunset and on weekends.

Is there free parking near the Golden Gate Bridge?

Yes: Vista Point (4-hour limit), Battery Spencer and Hawk Hill on the north side; the Crissy Field East Beach lot and Baker Beach on the south side. Most Presidio lots are paid at a pay station or with PayByPhone.

Do I pay the bridge toll to park on the north side?

The toll is only charged southbound into San Francisco. Driving north from the city to Vista Point or Battery Spencer is free; you pay once when you come back south.
